Typical Program Schedule
The program provides an opportunity for active cooperative play both indoors and outdoors, quiet creative activities, and dramatic play, intellectual growth through experimentation and investigation, music participation, books, stories, as well as experiences in the community.
Working with preschoolers, we are aware of their basic needs. They need a friendly teacher that provides a safe secured environment to learn and play. They need an opportunity to explore and understand their world, freedom and physical activity to help in developing social opportunities with their peers.
The program time can be flexible, but the order of activities generally remains the same. Children excel when there is a sense of peace, sequence, order and flexibility in the schedule to allow for spontaneous and unpredictable events that add joy to a day.
Daily Schedule
8:00 a.m. Centre opens for children attending daycare spaces . Parents please remember to sign in your child
8:00 am Children attending daycare will arrive and have activites waiting for them
9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m.: Free choice time in all activity centres. These centres include, books, table toys (puzzles, stacking/building materials,) art activities, blocks, dramatic play, rice/water play,
10:00 a.m.-10:15 a.m.: Tidy up routine and gather for a small circle time that includes attendance, calendar, ABC, phonics, welcoming songs, discussion on the day’s events past current and future.
10:15- 10:30 Wash up for snack, toileting routines, snack time
10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Outdoor play or Gym time depending on weather
11:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. Story time, consisting of felt stories, music and movement, games.
11:30 -12:30 lunch for children.
12:30pm to 2:00 pm Nap time for those children requiring a nap. A cot will be always available to all daycare children if they require a nap or just a rest . We do not make any child have a nap . Nap time will be discussed with the parents prior to starting the program
2:00 pm – Tidy up routine and gather for a small circle time , songs, games, short storytime
2:10 pm Wash up for snack, toileting routines, snack time
2:30-3:00 pm:. Story time, consisting of felt stories, music and movement, games.
3:00pm gym or outdoor play
3:30 -5:30 children : outdoor time , or gym time or classroom time all depending on weather . Another snack time will be offered around 4 pm .Teachers are flexible to the children needs
5:25 pm : is the latest for pick up time for daycare children. Late fees will apply
5:30pm School closed
